Robert A. McFarlane

Robert A. McFarlane BS ’56, July 17, 2020, age 88. After graduation, McFarlane attended the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center (now OHSU). In 1967, he and his family moved to Iran, where he served as chief of surgery at the Presbyterian Hospital in Tabriz. Later, McFarlane worked for Kaiser Permanente as a thoracic surgeon. An advocate for universal health care, he served the medical community in many capacities throughout his life. He retired in 2000. Survivors include wife Victoria; children Ann, Paul, Sarah, and James; stepson Tristan; seven grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
