Yoshiko was born and raised in Japan where she eventually earned her BA in Japanese history. For 12 years she worked with international students at the University of Tokyo and also specialized in teaching Japanese language with an emphasis on Japanese cultural heritage. In 2014 Yoshiko came to the U.S. and completed her master’s degree in Higher Education Management two years later at New Mexico State University, graduating with honors. Most recently she has used her skills working as a Cultural Program Manager at the Portland Japanese Garden. Yoshiko is excited not only to teach her native language but she also enjoys incorporating lots of interesting cultural and historical perspectives into her lessons. During her free time,she enjoys hiking, biking, and cooking.
