After graduating from Lewis & Clark in 1981 with a bachelor of science in business and administration studies and a minor in communication, David joined the sales force of Proctor & Gamble, later working for an independent Pepsi bottler in the Pacific Northwest before joining his family’s business, Lane Affiliated Companies, which at its peak was the eighth largest Pepsi bottler in the United States. David has also served on two private company advisory boards.
The Lane family sold their Colorado Springs-based Pepsi bottling business in 2008 to Pepsi Bottling Group after 72 years of operation. Since the sale, David has been an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist, and has served on various nonprofit boards including the Nature Conservancy - Arizona Chapter, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. He and his wife Leesa have been married 35 years and have two adult children and one grandchild. They split their time between Arizona and Coeur d’Alene ID.
