Rebecca Jordan Smith began her career in the music industry as a recording artist signed to Elektra Records and Clive Davis’ J Records. She toured nationally with Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind and Lilith Fair. As a songwriter, Rebecca has been recognized by the Songwriters Hall of Fame with the Abe Olman Award and her original compositions have been recorded by Prince, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend among others. Rebecca has also worked as a Producer in Commercial Music and as a Creative Manager for an independent music publisher. Rebecca continues to consult and write for recording projects and is on the faculty of NYU Steinhardt’s Summer Songwriting Program. A recent Portland resident, Rebecca was delighted to be invited to perform at TedX Portland in 2019.
