What’s your favorite class? How has it expanded your knowledge?

Interpersonal Media with Daena Goldsmith. I learned about how people communicate online and explored the pros and cons of social media as a growing technology.

Who is your mentor on campus? Why do you consider this person your mentor? 

I don’t have a single mentor, rather I have surrounded myself with a group of people that are always willing to help me. I consider these people mentors because they always have my best interest in mind and are readily available to help aid me in any area necessary.

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

Having the ability to attend an academically challenging school, play football, and be close to home.  

If you have studied or will study overseas while at Lewis & Clark, how did you choose your program? What did your overseas study add to your L&C experience so far?

I chose my program based on the fact that I had an interest in visiting London. I am hoping that my overseas program will help me develop a new view of the world and a better understanding of human connection.

Why do you choose to play football at a DIII school? How do you balance athletics and academics?

I chose to play football at a DIII school because I wanted to be able to continue my football career while still being able to focus on other important aspects of my life. I balance school and academics by spending as much free time as I have either in the library or in my professor’s office hours.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Be ready to be challenged academically and keep in open mind about things that you might have no interest in.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the Trail Room.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Portland?

Being 45 minutes away from Mount Hood and the coast.

How did you decide on a major?

I took RHMS 100 and found I was very interested in the topics covered during class and also enjoyed the professors I have had throughout my RHMS classes.

What’s your best Lewis & Clark memory so far?

Winning the Wagon Wheel (football team award for victory over conference rival Willamette University) two years in a row!

How do you manage stress?

Lifting weights and hanging out with friends.

How has Lewis & Clark changed you?

I have become a more open-minded and well-rounded student after spending 2 years at Lewis & Clark.
