Home, challenging, beautiful
What’s your favorite class? How has it expanded your knowledge?
I really appreciate my first computer science class taught by Professor Jens Mache who is now my advisor too. He brought me into this magic digital world and gave me another angle to think of problems using computer language. I still remember the first program I made by myself, called “Hello world!” It was astonishing, no matter how simple it was. Jens’s teaching style stimulated us to come up with many creative ideas. By taking this class, I finally made the decision to major in computer science.

Whenever you struggle in your academic problems, you are free to go and talk to your professor. Besides, there are lots of opportunities and challenges.
How do you feel supported as an international student at Lewis & Clark?
I started to feel supported the first day I came to the campus. L&C has a special international student orientation. It was a good time for me to get used to my brand new college life. There are always many kind staff members in the international student office waiting to help us, and I feel super comfortable stopping by whether I have questions or not. There are lots of cultural sharing activities which benefit our international students, such as China night, ISLC cooking events, and the international fair.
