Reminder: Authorization to Release Information

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the disclosure of personally identifiable information from a student’s education records to anyone other than the student is prohibited unless written consent is given by the student.

Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the disclosure of personally identifiable information from a student’s education records to anyone other than the student is prohibited unless written consent is given by the student. This means that if you want us to be able to speak freely with your parent, guardian, or anyone else, you have to provide authorization.

  • Does anyone help you apply for financial aid?
  • Does anyone help cover your Student Account bill after your financial aid is disbursed?
  • Will a scholarship donor ask us for information about your financial aid award?
  • Who calls our office if there are problems with your financial aid?

You should consider completing the 2022-23 Authorization to Release Information form, which is available in the Forms section of our website. This will make it a lot easier for us to communicate with the people who help you with financial matters.

Note: This authorization is for financial aid information for the 2022-23 school year only. It does NOT authorize the release of any other personal information, like academic records.
