Pillsbury, Mr. Philip L.

Phillip L. Pillsbury, Jr. is a founding partner of Pillsbury & Levinson, LLP in San Francisco. He has specialized in the representation of insured in insurance bad faith and insurance coverage matters for nearly 30 years. He is a frequent lecturer on insurance issues to attorney and non-attorney groups. In February 1997 Mr. Pillsbury was the trial counsel in Vann v. The Travelers, a case resulting in a $26.5 million verdict, including $25 million in punitive damages. The verdict was one of the largest awards in the country to be affirmed on appeal in April 1998. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and the Bar Association of San Francisco. Mr. Pillsbury has served as Chairman and Director on numerous nonprofit boards including St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation, and Hearst Castle Preservation Foundation. Mr. Pillsbury is gradate of Lewis & Clark Law School (’76) and Middlebury College.
