Now Hiring for Summer: Student Mentors and More!

With support from the Mellon Foundation, the Center for Community and Global Health is hiring this Summer. Apply to be a College Success Mentor for high school students, or support nonprofit community partners Inside-Out Prison Exchange or Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative. 

Roosevelt Summer Session Student Mentors June 2023 Four LC students will be hired to work as mentors for an intensive program of college preparation with students from Roosevelt High School, many of whom will be 1st generation and/or BIPOC. You will function as a key mentor for a small group of Roosevelt students who are matriculating from Junior to Senior year. The purpose of this program is to help prepare these students for college and help them improve their skills of self-advocacy. This three-week program will take place in June 2023, with both hourly compensation and housing stipend.
Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative Summer Internship 2023 Northwest Narrative Medicine Collaborative brings health care professionals, patients, clinicians, caregivers, students, academics, artists, and scholars together to build, sustain and promote a regional narrative medicine community. The work of this grassroots organization is run by a group of dedicated volunteers and the intern will work closely with a number of them, including board and committee members. The intern will provide crucial event, production, and communications support.
Inside-Out Prison Exchange Summer Internship (Remote) 2023 Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program is housed at Temple University in Philadelphia. This internship for a Lewis & Clark student will be remote. Inside-Out’s mission is to create opportunities for people inside and outside of prison to have transformative learning experiences that emphasize collaboration and dialogue, inviting them to take leadership in addressing vital issues of social justice. The intern will work closely with a small full-time staff and a number of dedicated part-time staff and volunteer workers. The intern will provide crucial office support, liaison with colleges and universities for future Inside-Out trainings, and perform other tasks that strengthen the Inside-Out network.
