ASB/Lyft: Program Survey

ASB wants to make sure we create a Lyft rideshare program that best benefits the student body: how would you utilize Lyft?

ASB is considering a collaboration with Lyft to give students the opportunity to ride for less. Lyft offers several programs for universities to provide Lyft services to their students. The program ASB chose to pursue is the Lyft Pass. This program acts like a coupon, where students will receive an email to their @lclark.edu to add vouchers to their Lyft wallet. With Lyft Pass, ASB has immense flexibility in creating program parameters. We can restrict the hours, pick-up/drop-off locations, ride type, and dates that Lyfts are made available. Other universities utilize Lyft as a late-night ride program to ensure safe arrival from off-campus social gatherings, or provide daily passes so students can commute to campus. For example, St. Mary’s College (VPSL Castillo-Clark’s previous institution) designates several zones for students to depart and arrive from and subsidizes a portion of rides. You can read more about St. Mary’s policy here. In Oregon, Willamette University also has a similar Lyft Rideshare program. More information on their program can be found here.
