Campus Living COVID information for Fall 2022
Good Morning Returning and New Campus Living Residents,
Alongside yesterday’s campus announcement (provided at the end of this email) here are additional details for Campus Living, including (1) Move-in information, (2) Quarantine & Isolation, and (3) when masks will be worn.
In the 48 hours before students arrive on campus to move-in they are expected to self-administer a COVID antigen test. Please take a picture of the result to have on hand if asked. If a student has not done this, or has had COVID related symptoms in the 7 days prior to your arrival, they will be asked to take an antigen test before being issued keys to their room.
To move-in students will need to have (1) completed the above pre-arrival testing, (2) have completed the colleges COVID attestation which will be sent out prior to arrival, and (3) be compliant with the campus vaccination policy (or have an approved exemption).
During move-in masks are strongly encouraged in our buildings. Particularly on bigger move-in days of 8/23, 8/24, 8/27, and 8/28.
QUARANTINE & ISOLATION:
The campus has updated the approach to quarantine and isolation for Fall 2022. We urge you to review this information as it focuses on supporting high risk students.
MASKS IN CAMPUS LIVING:
Public / Common Areas: Masks are optional for Campus Living staff and residents in all common areas of our buildings. Just as they are optional elsewhere on campus.
Resident Advisors (RAs): RAs will always have a mask with them when in Campus Living facilities and during day to day interactions RAs will check with residents they interact with about their preference for the RA to wear a mask. RAs will be wearing masks when on-call and when responding to potential policy violations regardless of if you are on-call or not. We will also be encouraging residents to put on a mask during any incident response, and RAs may ask you to do so during the interaction.
Programming & Events: Unless otherwise specified by Campus Living staff the following guidelines will apply to events in Campus Living facilities.
- Outdoor events: Masks optional
- Indoor Events Larger than 25: Masks required
- Indoor Events of 15-25 people: Masks expected / encouraged
- Indoor Events of less than 15 people: Masks optional
Community, Room, and Apartment Discussions: Individual floors, rooms, or apartments may find themselves discussing masking and guests when crafting community guidelines or roommate and apartment agreements in light of this change. RAs and Area Directors can assist in these conversations.
