Seniors: Submit poetry to 2022 Vern Rutsala AAP Contest by April 6th

The Vern Rutsala Academy of American Poets Prize Contest at Lewis & Clark College is open to all graduating seniors currently enrolled full-time at Lewis & Clark College. The winning poet is awarded a cash prize of $100 and acknowledgement in the Academy’s newsletter. Poems can be previously published. For more information about the Academy of American Poets visit www.poets.org

To enter the contest, here’s a checklist that’s as easy as 1, 2, 3:

1) Email your submission to Amy Baskin at amy@lclark.edu . Title your email “AAP Submission [Your full name]”. (So if Merriweather Lewis were submitting, his email heading/title would be “AAP Submission Merriweather Lewis.”)

2) Attach one to three typed poems in one pdf, up to six pages, total. Submissions are read blind, so please do not put your name anywhere on the pdf document, including in the name. Name your pdf “AAP [title of your first or only poem].” (So if Merriweather Lewis were submitting and his first or only poem is entitled “Orchids,” his pdf name would be “AAP Orchids.”)
3) Provide the following identifying information in the body of the email (but not in the pdf, because, again, this is a blind submission.)
Your name
LC Student ID#
Email
Major
Home Address (this needs to be an address that is valid through this summer)
Name of pdf (remember: “AAP [title of your first or only poem]”)
Title(s) of poem(s)
Deadline: Please email amy@lclark.edu your submission by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
