Health and Counseling Resources & Guidance for the November Break

Counseling and Health Services will be closed for the November Break. This article provides resources and guidance for students related to healthcare during the break.

The Health Service and the Counseling Service will both be closed from November 25 through November 28.

Anytime the Health Service is closed, students can get a free health consultation by calling our after-hours nurseline at 1-877-617-9531. If you develop any symptoms of COVID over the break– even if you think it’s “just a cold”– you should self-isolate and call the nurseline. They can tell you if you should get a medical assessment and testing. During this break, you do not need to complete the COVID Self-Check and Reporting Form in the Health Information Portal, as these forms will NOT be checked by college staff from November 25-28.

Meal delivery will not be available to students who are self-isolating from Thursday, November 25 through Saturday, November 27, because campus dining facilities will be closed during that time. Students who need to self-isolate during that period should follow our directions for self-isolation, but utilize grocery delivery from Safeway or Fred Meyer, or via Instacart; or order food for delivery.

If you need a medical assessment when the Health Service is closed, resources include DispatchHealth (503-714-8987), a mobile urgent care program where health care providers will come to you (fees apply, many insurance programs accepted), as well as other Portland health care providers. If you receive a positive COVID test during the break, or you have a concern about a potential exposure to COVID, it is important that you call Campus Safety at 503-768-7777, and they will page a Wellness staff member to reach out to you and provide support.
