The Lewis & Clark Student Life Division is seeking two students to serve as Student Team Leaders in a new and expanded program of Lewis & Clark alternative breaks, service opportunities, and community immersion experiences. These two Student Team Leaders will plan and promote co-curricular opportunities for civic engagement, and will also concentrate on skill building for social change and action.

The students selected for these two positions will be trained to be a Student Team Leader by Break Away, the premier national alternative break nonprofit organization at an Alternative Break Citizenship School (ABCs) held on either June 10-13, July 12-15 or July 29-August 1. Each applicant must be available to attend at least one of these sessions to be eligible for consideration.

Ranging in length from a one-day to a one- to two-week experience, the new and expanded alternative break and immersion programs will provide Lewis & Clark students with opportunities for direct service and community engagement in combination with directed learning through dialogue and reflection. These programs will be designed to expand each participant’s understanding of critical social issues and the possibilities for social change. The Student Team Leaders will be responsible for planning logistics, training student participants, managing budgets, and developing community partnerships. The Student Team Leader positions will report directly to the senior Student Life Division staff member who oversees this program.

In order to apply, please complete and submit this Google Form. Preference will be given to  those who apply by May 7th. Questions should be directed to Jessica Sweeney (jessicasweeney@lcark.edu) in the VPSL Office.
