USPS Grace Period Ends April 30. Are You Ready?

The addresses of most Lewis & Clark properties changed in 2020. Beginning May 2021, the U.S. Postal Service will no longer honor our old Southwest Portland addresses.

Back in November 2019, we alerted you that most Lewis & Clark properties would be getting new addresses as part of a Portland City Council plan to improve 9-1-1 emergency response times through the creation of a sixth sextant, South Portland.

Our new addresses went into effect May 1, 2020. For the year that followed, the U.S. Postal Service promised to honor both old and new addresses as we made the shift.

We are quickly approaching the deadline for completing our switch. After April 30, 2021, USPS will no longer honor our old Southwest Portland addresses.

This is the time to ensure you’ve made your updates. Some places to check:

  • web content
  • email signatures
  • forms
  • PDFs still in circulation
  • paper stationery products
  • digital stationery products
  • personal emergency contact information

Be sure vendors and other off-campus parties have your correct address, too.
