Happy Monday and Happy March, Students!

I hope you got some well-earned rest and down time during the first mini-break last week. Reports I’ve received from students and staff indicate that events and activities were well-attended, College Outdoors’ mini-trips were successes, and the late winter sunshine was much appreciated.

I want to applaud you for maintaining your COVID health practices in the midst of your mini-breaks. Your conscientiousness is integral to keeping our COVID rates low and our community safe. And I appreciate in advance the effort you will put into having another safe, relaxing mini-break later this month.

The College resumed its weekly COVID testing clinics last week. Results so far are very encouraging: no positive detections in the 294 students, faculty, and staff tested last Tuesday. Effluent testing is also back on schedule, though results are delayed due to testing lab technical issues. Until then, here is where we are:

  • COVID-19 cases: So far this semester, Lewis & Clark has administered 3,416 COVID-19 tests to employees and students from all three campuses, yielding 8 positive results from on-campus testing. There are currently no cases with campus impact.

  • Effluent testing results: Effluent testing results were delayed due to lab issues. Results from samples collected late last week will be available tomorrow, and will appear on the appropriate webpage dashboard.

Stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and as always, WeB4Me@LC.

Sincerely,

Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan
Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students
