Visionaire raises questions about the confluence of fashion, capital, and art. What can Visionaire tell us about the tensions between the humanist ideals of art and the commercial goals of fashion? Can fashion be art? And can the values of capital and art be reconciled in a publication like this? This exhibit explores the ways in which that blending affects the relationship Visionaire holds to fashion, capitalism, and the ideals of art.
The exhibit was researched, written, and designed by Aidan Bennett (’21), Ben Warner (’22), and Watzek Library Special Collections. It will be on display in Watzek Library throughout the spring.
