VPSL COVID-19 Weekly Column: Feb. 8, 2021

Happy Monday, Students!

Thanks to your diligent commitment to maintaining personal health and safety best practices, the most recent round of testing came back with welcome and good news – no positive cases on campus! Of course, we can’t become complacent or lax in our duties. Please keep up the good work keeping our community healthy and productive. Our PCR and effluent test results are below.

  • COVID-19 cases: So far this semester, Lewis & Clark has administered 2,737 COVID-19 tests to employees and students from all three campuses, including 410 tests administered last week at the first regular Tuesday testing clinic of the semester. All of those tests came back negative.

  • Effluent testing results: Effluent testing results returned on February 4 from wastewater samples pulled showed negative results from all sites tested. Biweekly testing will continue as scheduled.

  • Spring mini-breaks: As you know, instead of the traditional Spring Break week normally observed during Spring Semester, this year CAS students will be given two mini-breaks: February 25-26 and March 22-23. To keep our COVID rates low and our community safe and healthy, it is critically important that every student help maintain the campus bubble and not travel or engage in non-essential activities. Student Life professionals and student group leaders are hard at work right now putting together programming and activities to make the most of your mini-break “staycations.” Please watch for announcements, and thank you in advance for your thoughtful cooperation.

Stay healthy, take care of yourselves, and as always, WeB4Me@LC.

Sincerely,

Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan
Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students
