Approval for Off-Campus Activities, Travel and Return to Campus
Off-Campus Activities and COVID-19
The health and safety of Lewis & Clark students are our top priorities. Because of this, the College has enacted new measures that affect off-campus activities and travel. These measures are intended to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 and enable students to have an optimal on-campus experience.
APPROVAL FOR OFF-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES AND TRAVEL
Students who live on campus and wish to participate in a non-essential off-campus activity must complete the COVID-19 Non-Essential Off-Campus Activities/Travel Application. The completed form will be reviewed by staff in the Division of Student Life and a decision about approval will be rendered and sent to the student’s LClark email address. Requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis; we encourage and appreciate as much detailed information as you can provide.
The committee meets every Friday to review cases; please submit your requests at least ONE week prior to your requested activity/travel date.
Please note: If your application(s) for an off-campus activity or travel is approved, you may be subject to a higher frequency of required COVID-19 testing.
Examples of activities/events that require approval:
- Family gatherings
- Participating in an off-campus training program
- Outdoor activities such as hiking or camping
- Vacations
RETURNING TO CAMPUS AFTER TRAVEL
Students who live on campus and/or attend in-person classes on campus must be cleared to return to campus following any travel. Students in this situation must complete the Post-Travel COVID Risk Assessment Form prior to returning to campus. Upon receipt of this form, Lewis & Clark Health Promotion & Wellness staff will reach out to students to discuss COVID-19 mitigation activities they will be required to enact upon their return. Students are required to adhere to the guidance provided by staff prior to resuming normal on-campus activities.
