Back-To-School COVID Testing Clinic

All undergraduates studying on campus (with a few exceptions noted here) were tested for COVID-19 last week. The PCR saliva test clinic was set up in tents just outside the Templeton Health Service and was offered at no cost to students.
Staff from across campus showed up to make the event a success–including volunteers from Academic English Studies, CAS Admissions, CAS Dean’s Office, Career Services, College Advising Center, College Outdoors, Facilities Services, Human Resources, International Students and Scholars, and Physical Education and Athletics.
The purpose of the testing clinic was to:
- identify any asymptomatic cases of COVID among students;
- guide those students into a supported isolation experience;
- limit any potential spread of disease within our community.
The Health Service receives the results of testing about two business days after samples are collected. Students will be notified of their results if students test positive.
Should a student test positive, Wellness staff will notify public health officials, per Oregon law, ensure the student is supported into isolation, and collaborate with public health officials on contact tracing efforts.
