General Education Fellows Program
January 03, 2020
The General Education Fellow Program is a new initiative to support general education instruction. The GE Fellow will hold a two-year appointment within a department or program to teach five courses a year. Fellows are selected by and situated within departments, who provide mentoring and a collegial environment for their visiting scholar. The host department must increase staffing in the First Year Seminar by 3 courses per year during the period of the GE Fellow’s appointment.
The host department will be selected through a competitive application process. For the 2020-22 fellow position, this process will occur in Spring 2020 and will focus on increasing contributions to the Numbers curriculum. Departments will submit applications by February 7 and the host department will be selected shortly thereafter. The host department is responsible for hiring a GE Fellow, who will begin their appointment in August 2020.
