Digital media and sound art, media archeology, new materialism, acoustic ecology

 What most excites you about joining the L&C community?

The possibility of collaboration and exchanging ideas with faculty and students in a liberal arts environment

Describe the current trajectory of your scholarly research.

After investigating the ultrasonic communication of urban rats, I’m currently learning about infrasound arrays and the capacity to perceive weather events at a distance through sound. In general I am interested in alternative epistemologies through which we might give more consideration to more-than-human agencies, whether geophysical, animal, or machine.

What kind of hobbies or special activities do you enjoy outside of work?

I’m an avid skier, hiker, and cyclist, which means I’m very happy to have moved to Oregon!

What were your childhood goals/aspirations?

To be a drummer
