Curious Collection

Visionaire is one of Watzek’s more unique and lesser-known periodicals.  Click below to find out more…

Visionaire is one of Watzek’s more unique and lesser-known periodicals. In its own words, it “focuses on the cross-pollination of art, fashion, film, and contemporary culture.” It draws upon “a deep and developed network of artists, photographers, fashion designers, models, celebrities, filmmakers, writers, agents, editors, collectors, galleries, and museums.” Artists and designers work in collaboration with Visionaire to produce interpretations on a theme, as we see in the display near Watzek Library Room 336. The display will be on view into Fall 2016.

Each issue of Visionaire constitutes a limited-run art piece in its own right. The pricing of individual issues can be an indication as to the limited number in distribution and often fluctuates based on available inventory.

Part of the Watzek Library’s permanent reserve collection, more than 25 volumes may be found in Primo and viewed by request.
