Summer Externship Pre-Registration 825-EB

Law 825

Students planning to undertake a summer externship – or who are considering doing so – can register for this 3 credit class in order to start the process of securing summer financial aid.  Once the required externship paperwork is submitted and the summer externship is approved by Associate Dean Libby Davis, your registration in this pre-class will be dropped and you will be enrolled in the Externship Program Placement (LAW-804) and Class Component (LAW-810) courses. While the pre-class is set at 3 credits, you will be able to enroll in the Externship Model/credit level of your choice, provided you meet the prerequisites of the Model selected.  (Insert link to Externship Program Guide)  If you have not secured an externship and submitted the required paperwork by the summer externship deadline date (May 22nd in 2016), your Summer Externship Pre-Registration Class registration will be cancelled.  If you do not to enroll in a summer externship or another summer class, be sure to notify the Financial Aid Office as soon as possible and drop the Summer Externship Pre-Registration Class.

The American Bar Association accreditation standards require students to regularly attend the courses in which they are registered. Lewis & Clark expects students to attend classes regularly and to prepare for classes conscientiously. Specific attendance requirements may vary from course to course. Any attendance guidelines for a given class must be provided to students in a syllabus or other written document at the start of the semester. Sanctions (e.g., required withdrawal from the course, grade adjustment, and/or a failing grade) will be imposed for poor attendance.
