Prof. Erica Lyman and students in Paris for climate change meetings

The International Environmental Law Project (IELP) at Lewis & Clark Law School will have a delegation, including Prof. Erica Lyman and four students, at the climate change meetings in Paris (COP21).  Their work “inside” the COP focuses on supporting small island States.

The International Environmental Law Project (IELP) at Lewis & Clark Law School has a delegation (including Prof. Erica Lyman and LC law students Max Zhang, Liz Mering, Olivier Jamin, and Ethan Bodegam) at the climate change meetings in Paris (COP21). Their work “inside” the COP focuses on supporting small island States. This year, they are also working with another client “outside” the negotiations, in the civil society area, promoting their joint work on elephant conservation in an era of climate change. The IELP team is presenting at the UNESCO Pavilion and participating in an off-site event with Jane Goodall, the Jane Goodall Foundation, and the International Fund for Animal Welfare.

Professor Chris Wold would normally also attend, but he is busy working with another client at the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission meeting in Bali. IELP has a busy travel schedule this year - both Professor Wold and Professor Lyman will also be in attendance with students at the CITES (Conference on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) Standing Committee meeting in January in Geneva.
