Competing for Success

Our student-athletes share the keys to a Lewis & Clark education.

At Lewis & Clark, around 20 percent of the student body competes in at least one of 19 NCAA Division III sports. The environment on campus encourages student-athletes to achieve their full potential both in and out of the classroom. Small class sizes, freedom to pursue more than one sport, and support for extracurricular and cocurricular activities are our hallmarks.

“Being a student-athlete really helps me focus on my priorities,” says Seth Anderson ’16, a swimmer majoring in international affairs and minoring in economics. “I take advantage of office hours and make sure to talk with my professors if I need help before an assignment is due, for example.”

What’s it really like to be a student-athlete at Lewis & Clark? Liza Tugangui ’18 filmed these three responses. Roll Pios!
