New Watzek Library Special Collections and Archives Website
Lewis & Clark College’s Aubrey R. Watzek Library is proud to announce its new and improved Special Collections and Archives website. The new website was developed by Special Collections and Archives staff Zachariah Selley and E.J. Carter, along with Watzek Digital Initiatives staff Anneliese Dehner and Jeremy McWilliams. The group developed the new website after surveying the current landscape of similar websites and institutions, paying special attention to the user experience, researcher needs, findability of information, and educational resources. Highlights of the website include a multifaceted way to search Watzek rare books, manuscript collections, and digital collections from a single interface; a sortable list of major collections by subject; and a clear sense of our willingness to provide the best in curriculum support and researcher assistance.
On July 1st, 2015 the Orbis Cascade Alliance and Northwest Digital Archives (NWDA) will unveil the new researcher website Archives West. Formerly known as NWDA, the Archives West website–which now represents research institutions from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington–will continue to be the premier archives and manuscripts collections service in the region, providing enhanced access to thousands of archival and manuscript collections and finding aids. Lewis & Clark College’s Watzek Library is proud to be a member institution in NWDA/Archives West, and we look forward to their new and enhanced website redesign next month.
Over the next few months we will continue to add more content to the website, improving access to collections, finding aids, and digital content. We hope that through these improved access points, descriptions, and usability your research will soar to new levels.
