Alison Johnston Rue

Alison Johnston Rue was the CEO and cofounder of InstaEDU, the largest marketplace for online tutoring, which was acquired by Chegg for $30 million in June 2014. Today, Alison is the Director of Marketing for Learning Services at Chegg. Prior to cofounding InstaEDU, she was an early team member at Box, Aardvark (acquired by Google), and Nextdoor. She also cofounded in-home tutoring company, Cardinal Scholars, which sold to CourseHero in 2012. In 2014, Alison was named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Education. Alison is looking forward to helping Earthrise with business operations and marketing.
