As a summer law clerk for Columbia Riverkeeper in Hood River, Oregon, I gained valuable experience in environmental and administrative law. I had the opportunity to do this work in my favorite place in Oregon—the Columbia Gorge. This would not have been possible without the support of a PILP stipend.
Because of the PILP stipend I had an incredible summer experience working on the current environmental law and policy issues found in the Northwest. I wrote memos about current legal questions, drafted comments, and researched important topics to help Columbia Riverkeeper attorneys with their continuing campaign to protect the Columbia River from becoming a major thoroughfare for coal and crude oil. I got real-world experience engaging with a variety of environmental statutes, administrative law, and land-use regulations. The PILP stipend was essential to my summer. I received practical experience while working on issues I am truly passionate about.
