What made you choose Lewis & Clark?
I chose Lewis & Clark for the small liberal arts atmosphere. I was particularly interested in attending a school where I could succeed within an athletics program and have the individual attention to also succeed as a student.
What was your favorite class at Lewis & Clark?
Constitutional Law with Todd Lochner, associate professor of political science.
What is your favorite off-the-court memory from Lewis & Clark?
My favorite off-the-court memory from Lewis & Clark would probably have to be the campus itself. Not only is Lewis & Clark the most beautiful college I have ever seen, it is also just a few minutes from downtown Portland, which is my favorite city I have ever lived in.
Where do you live now?
Albuquerque, New Mexico.
What are you doing currently?
I am currently working and just finished the prerequisite courses for nursing school which I will be attending this fall.
Who or what was your greatest resource at Lewis & Clark when it came to finding your current career?
In the political science department, Professor of Government Curtis Johnson inspired me to aim to enact positive social and political change. Although I am going through somewhat of a career change I hope to maintain the importance of giving back to your community.
How did basketball influence your college experience?
Basketball gave me the opportunity to learn how to work effectively with staff, faculty, student, parents, and alumni from diverse backgrounds. I also experienced what it means to represent a college and its athletics program to various internal and external constituencies with honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship.
What other interesting things have you done since graduating?
I have traveled a lot, survived a winter in Minnesota, and am currently training for the Duke City marathon.
What is your most memorable on-the-court moment from Lewis & Clark?
A specific moment would be when all three posts hit 3’s against George Fox to send the game into overtime my sophomore or junior year.
How do you think you changed as a person from your first day at Lewis & Clark to your last?
The confidence that I was able to cultivate within myself was probably the biggest change.
Is there any special message you would like send your former teammates?
You guys are all so incredible. Keep on keeping on!
Is there any advice you would give someone considering going to Lewis & Clark?
Get ready! This is going to be one of the best experiences of your life. Take a moment to enjoy every day because it will go by fast!
