Professor uses smart phone technology in the classroom

Associate Professor of Education Liza Finkel is turning smartphones and tablets in the classroom into tools with Celly, a social networking start-up from Portland.

Associate Professor of Education Liza Finkel is turning smartphones and tablets in the classroom into tools with Celly, a social networking start-up from Portland. Students can answer polls and short answer questions through text messages. Finkel projects the results at the front of the room so the class can share answers and insights. She hopes her teacher education students will think about incorporating similar classroom response systems into their middle and high school science classes.
