Bookwarming for Mary Szybist, April 23

Bookwarming for Mary Szybist, April 23

Join the Lewis & Clark Bookstore Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m. to celebrate Incarnadine, the latest collection of poetry from Associate Professor of English Mary Szybist.

The second book from Professor Szybist, Incarnadine is a collection of poems describing yearnings for love, motherhood, the ability to see things as they are, and an exploration of religiosity and faith. Her poems recount a search for god and meaning in unlikely places, whether while dozing on a yoga mat, overheard conversation from girls solving a puzzle, or beneath the clothes of a cross-dressing man.

Released in February of this year, Incarnadine has received praise from Slate Book Review, Willamette Week, NPR Poetry Roundup, Kenyon Review, Library Journal, The Oregonian and NW Book Lovers Blog.

Light refreshments will be served during this event.
