Greg Caldwell is the associate dean of students and director of International Students and Scholars. His career in international education began with a three-year assignment teaching middle school English with the Peace Corps in South Korea. “Before Peace Corps I had never met anyone from a foreign country,” says Caldwell. When he returned to the United States, Caldwell earned his master’s degree in English as a second language from the University of Hawai‘i, and in 1976 he took an ESL position at Lewis & Clark College. Caldwell taught ESL for two years before becoming director of the program. Caldwell was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to teach at Kangweon National University in Korea in 1981. He also led a Lewis & Clark overseas program toChina in 1987.
