A Year in the Life of Forest Park

Celebrating Forest Park’s 60 years with a photography exhibit at the World Forestry Center - Portland, OR, 7/12-9/25

‘A Year in the Life of Forest Park’ - a photo essay by local photographer Bruce MacGregor will take you on an exquisite walk through the four seasons of Forest Park.

Beginning on July 12th through September 27th visitors to the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum,in Portland, OR in partnership with the Forest Park Conservancy and Pro Photo Supply, will have the opportunity to see 45 stunning images of Forest Park.

The exhibit highlights Forest Park’s complex ecosystem and contribution to the region’s clean air and water and its importance to providing home to more than 170 species of mammals and birds. For a period of over two years, photographer Bruce MacGregor hiked about two-hundred miles through the park to capture the usual, and unusual, landscape of Portland’s crown jewel. The exhibit will take viewers on a photo journey showing them the importance of Forest Park’s healthy ecosystem, natural beauty, recreation and respite, wildlife conservation, an enhanced quality of life for Portland’s residents. Visitors will learn of its history, beauty, and struggles for survival.

In addition, save the date of September 25th for an opportunity to attend the exhibit closing reception and to celebrate the park’s 60 years at the World Forestry Center. You will have the opportunity to purchase original exhibit prints with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Forest Park Conservancy and to attend a special presentation given by Commissioner Nick Fish and the Standard.
