Mary Szybist Awarded Prestigious Bellagio Fellowship
Open gallery
Lewis & Clark poet Mary Szybist has been invited to the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center for a four-week residency to complete her poetry collection Incarnadine. Such invitations are among the most sought-after in academia, providing both an inspiring place to work, and an extraordinary group of illustrious and stimulating dinner companions!
The Bellagio Center overlooks Lake Como in northern Italy. Typically no more than 12 scholars from diverse disciplines around the world are invited to the Center at any one time. This competitive residency program provides a “serene setting conducive to focused, goal-oriented work, and the unparalleled opportunity to establish new connections with fellow residents, across a stimulating array of disciplines and geographies.” In addition to time and a beautiful space in which to work, collegial interaction with other residents is encouraged.
English is located in Miller Center on the Undergraduate Campus.
