The event will bring together nationally reco gnized scholars of literature\, history\, and the arts to explore Ellison 's legacy. Ralph Waldo Ellison\, an American novelist\, literary critic\, scholar\, and writer is best known for his novel Invisible Man\, a defin itive text on the African-American experience. He was also a National Boo k Award winner (1953) and has two collections of essays\, Shadow and Act (1964) and Going to the Territory (1986).
