The region has a long history o f ethnic tensions with the Han Chinese caused by economic and cultural fa ctors. However\, unlike\, the ~8 million Tibetans\, the Uyghur people and their plight is less well-known as they do not have a famous leader or s pokesman like the Dalai Lama. Note: Jerry has traveled throughout Xinjia ng and China. He has visited the Xinjiang region multiple times and devel oped a close relationship with a Uyghur family in Turpan and Urumqi over a 12 years period. \;Upcoming Events - Save the Date! August 26 &# 160\; \;Barbecue at Ralph Munson's home The barbecue at Ralph Munso n's house in Mukilteo\, overlooking Puget Sound\, was such a success last year\, we are going to do it again\, on \;Saturday\, August 26.  0\;Since Paine Field is on the way to Ralph's house\, we thought it would be fun to add a visit to the Museum of Flight Restoration Center (http:/ /www.museumofflight.org/Plan-Your-Visit/Tours-and-Experiences/Restoration -Tours) before the barbecue (around \;2:30 p.m.) \;for those that are interested.
