Meet Lewis & Clark’s Congressman!

Join Congressman Earl Blumenauer, U.S. Representative, 3rd District of Oregon for a a fireside chat about recent election results and pressing issues on the national agenda hosted by the Politics Club!

A lifelong resident of Portland, Congressman Earl Blumenauer has devoted his entire career to public service.

First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1996, Mr. Blumenauer has created a unique role as Congress’ chief spokesperson for Livable Communities: places where people are safe, healthy and economically secure. From 1996 to 2007, he served on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he was a strong advocate for federal policies that address transportation alternatives, provide housing choices, support sustainable economies and improve the environment.

Congressman Blumenauer is a double Lewis & Clark alum (B.A. ’70 and J.D. ’76) and represents Oregon’s 3rd congressional district (including the Lewis & Clark campus).
