Japanese Language Study Course

Date: July 9

The Lewis & Clark Japanese Program is sponsoring a course this summer for all students who want to improve their Japanese skills. It’s a self-paced class (you can be ‘boot-camp intense’ or ‘beach-town chill’) that will stress collaborative efforts around language study. The non-credit course will run completely online and is structured around study for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), the best-known international credentialing test for Japanese. It will last 8 weeks (June and July) with electronic study materials provided for free.

If you’re interested in taking the course, please fill out this very short information sheet. Everyone who fills out the information sheet will get an invite to the google classroom page at the end of the week (by Saturday, May 30 if you fill it out by Friday, May 29). The google classroom page will have a syllabus/schedule, textbook and other study materials for download, discussion boards, etc.

You may have questions about the class – what is the JLPT? what will we do in this course? how much work is involved? etc. We’ll try to answer your questions as we get the class up and running, but filling out the info sheet and logging on to the google classroom page are pretty risk-free, so we encourage you to sign up and give it a look.
