[IN]SITE Senior Art Exhibition
Date: November 4 - November 11
(In)site will showcase fifteen site specific student artworks that will be distributed throughout Lewis & Clark Campus Site specific art relies on its environment to provide necessary context for interpretation. The senior art majors created installations for this show in dialogue with the work’s location on campus by conducting site research. These research methods ranged from holding interviews and polls, to using personal experiences, and library resources.
The works in this show deal with changing the way visitors navigate, perceive, and relate to spaces on campus through sound, sculpture, photography, drawing and found materials.
Visitors can find individual artist’s installation locations on maps distributed at the Arnold Gallery and on insite2019.net. Each piece will also be accompanied by a QR code, connecting visitors to the artist’s background research on the site.
