An entrepreneur and chemist who has developed a luxury cosmetics line for women of color, Paula Hayes is the founder and CEO of HUE NOIR, LLC. Through HUE NOIR, Paula is committed to supporting the unique needs of multicultural consumers through the use of color + science + technology to provide skin nourishing makeup with brilliant hues. After four years of research and development to cultivate the high-quality blends and colors displayed in her makeup line, Paula Hayes launched HUE NOIR in 2009. Prior to HUE NOIR, Paula served as a research and development chemist in Los Angeles where she specialized in new product development for blue chip companies in the food, beverage and cosmetics industries. While attending business school, Paula transitioned to senior management roles in music publishing and finance. Paula holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lewis & Clark College.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees at Lewis and Clark College. In 2016, Oregon Governor Kate Brown appointed Paula as a Business Commissioner for the Oregon Business Development Commission. Paula lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband Brett and their two sons Jayden and Camden.
