Parents Preview 2019
Date: August 28 - August 29
We invite all of our new students’ families to join us for Parents Preview. Running simultaneously with the first two days of New Student Orientation, August 28 & 29, the program is designed to familiarize parents with the academic and co-curricular life of the college so they have confidence that they are leaving their student in good hands. The program is regularly praised for helping with the college transition. As one recent parent said, “Though it was difficult to leave…we felt much better about it for having spent the time on campus these two days.”
The formal program begins at 3:45pm on Wednesday, August 28 with a social event for parents and concludes at 7pm on Thursday, August 29 with a community picnic following the Opening Convocation, the official opening of the 2019-20 academic year. We trust you will make plans now to attend Parents Preview.
It is our mission to introduce you to the College, familiarize you with the academic program and many student services but still provide you enough time with your son or daughter to allow for a comfortable transition.
Registration for parents and family members is now open. There is a small fee to attend the program to cover the cost of meals and program incidentals. If you are bringing a child (12 or younger) to the event, there is no charge for that child and you do not need to register them for the program.
Receive special rates at these nearby locations. Regretfully, we do not have on-campus accommodations for parents or family members.
Yes, this is the schedule for Parents Preview from last year. You can expect a similar program for Parents Preview 2019.
