A Musical Tribute to William Stafford

All are invited to a brief musical tribute to William Stafford featuring musical settings of four of Stafford’s poems composed by Lewis & Clark music faculty and students. 

The event will open with reflections provided by Stafford Scholar Tim Barnes. The concert features LC student David Salkowski’s “Our City is Guarded by Automatic Rockets,” and LC student Alex Koehler’s “The Well Rising,” as well as LC Associate Professor of Music Michael Johanson’s settings of “Vita” and “Earth Dweller.”

The program features performances by LC music faculty members Katherine FitzGibbon (Department Chair), Susan DeWitt Smith, and Carol Biel, as well as by LC alumnus Shohei Kobayashi, LC student performers, and Resonance Ensemble, directed by Katherine FitzGibbon.

This event is is FREE, open to the public and presented as part of the William Stafford Centennial celebration at Lewis & Clark.
