Annual Day Hike to Mt. Hood Wilderness

Fir Acres Parking Lot

** THIS Event is now FULL**  Talk to the department before signing up.

 

All students in a Math or Computer Science class are invited to join the faculty on a day hike.
This all-day event is free: the department supplies the post-hike BBQ dinner and  board games at Professor Emeritus Bob Owens’ cabin. Please bring your sack lunch to eat on the hike.

We will be hiking towards McNeil Point in the Mt. Hood Wilderness area with 3 hiking options:

1) Around Bald Mountain, with Mt. Hood viewpoint (2.2 miles roundtrip)
2) Further up to a pond below the Point (6.8 miles total roundtrip)
3) All the way to McNeil Point (9.6 miles total roundtrip).

We will leave at 8:30am from Fir Acres Parking Lot (near Olin Science Bldg.) to carpool to the mountain.

Bring:  Sack Lunch, Water bottle, Layered clothing, Jacket and hat, Sturdy shoes, Day Pack
