Arts Faculty

Our arts faculty are some of the most recognized working artists in our region. Among our faculty we have two Guggenheim fellowships, a Hallie Ford fellow, a Joan Mitchell Award winner, a National Book Award, a Graves Award, and multiple Grammy nominations. We run nationally recognized arts nonprofits and have had our work supported by the Ford Foundation, The Oregon Community Foundation, the Miller Foundation, and Fulbright, among many others. We have written for and been written about in the New York Times, The New Yorker, Art Forum, TimeOut, and the Wall Street Journal. Our faculty produce dozens of artistic events annually both regionally and nationally, often bringing students on as assistants or collaborators.

Portland Connections, National Impact

Many of our faculty members also serve as founders and leaders of Portland arts nonprofits that have won national awards and media recognition for their innovation and impact. These include the Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble, Resonance Ensemble, Portland Chamber Opera, Portland’s Monuments & Memorials Project, Portland Percussion Group, and many more.
