Program Costs
The total cost of the program comes to 660 EURO (610 EURO for former LMU students) plus 290 EURO for one month’s rent in the Studentenstadt. On the day of your arrival you will be required to pay a 50 EURO deposit for the room, which will be paid back to you at the end of the month. The program fee covers the language course and all excursions.
Health Insurance
Even for a one-month stay in Munich you are required to have valid health insurance. For participants from the European Union or from countries with which Germany has a bilateral social insurance agreement, we recommend that you to obtain an E 111 form in your own country. For more detailed information, contact an insurance agency in your country.
For participants who are not from the European Union we recommend the Foreign Health Insurance of the Hanse Merkur.
Living in the Studentenstadt
Each participant is provided with a single room in the “student city”, Studentenstadt Freimann. With about 2,400 residents in 14 buildings, the Studentenstadt is the largest student housing complex in Germany. Situated on the north end of the English Garden (one of the largest urban parks in the world!), the Studentenstadt offers not only plenty of options for sport and leisure, restaurants and hangouts, but also nearness to a subway line that will take you to the city center in just 10 minutes.
Meals
While you are in Munich you are responsible for your own meal schedule. You can eat lunch at either the cafeteria or the Mensa at the university for about 3 EURO. Of course you can also take advantage of the kitchens in the Studentenstadt or try out the various restaurants in the city.
