Books stacked at Expo 2002 in HamburgThe Lewis & Clark Year of Study in Munich offers a variety of courses covering a wide range of topics. All deal with various aspects of the German Culture. The courses are designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice, knowledge and experience. In one of Germany’s culturally richest and most stimulating cities students have the chance to truly live what they learn. The city of Munich becomes the classroom, and participants are able to travel through many centuries of European and German history, politics, literature, and art. Everything that is usually learned through books becomes tangible. Students see paintings in the original, hear concerts in one of Europe’s most renowned opera houses, and talk to people representing Germany’s past and present.

• Class sizes during the Year of Study in Munich usually do not exceed 12 students. This guarantees a relaxed, productive, and stimulating atmosphere.
• Each year students are impressed by the commitment and dedication of the faculty. The professors are not simply teachers, but companions to their students.
• Students may choose from a variety of German Studies courses offered by Lewis & Clark. We also encourage students to take advantage of the wide range of courses at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, the Technische Universität München and the Hochschschule für Musik und Theater München. • The program starts on the first Monday in September with a five-week presemester. The presemester ensures the best possible preparation before the University courses start in mid-October.
