What It’s Like
No one can give you a better sense of what it’s really like to be a chemistry student at Lewis & Clark than our current students and recent alumni.
Morgan Bashore, BA ’22Hometown: Cathlamet, Washington
Lewis & Clark has layered more and more lenses for me to look at the world through.
Max Clary, BA ’18Hometown: Evergreen, Colorado
I founded a nonprofit called CareMeKuc in the beginning of college that partners with local stakeholders to rehabilitate child soldiers in northern Uganda. As part of that, I worked with chemistry professor Janis Lochner to address local dietary health problems such as kwashiorkor.
Jordan Gonzalez, BA ’21Hometown: Chandler, Arizona
When I saw the incredible campus and interacted with some of the faculty, choosing Lewis & Clark was a no-brainer.
Selina Ibarra, BA ’19Hometown: Montclair, California
My favorite class within my major is definitely Organic Chemistry with Professor Louis Kuo and Assistant Professor Casey Jones. I felt they really complemented each other, and they both have a great sense of humor!
Kindra Jones, BA ’19Hometown: Portland, Oregon
L&C also has strong ties to the international community, and I was looking for a college on the West Coast that offered me the chance to continue learning Japanese.
Dakota Kennedy, BA ’19Hometown: Monument, Colorado
Lewis & Clark has a stellar chemistry program. It didn’t make sense to go anywhere else!
