      Emilia Carley-Roe Brasier BA ’03 works part time as the executive director of online outreach for Brasier Law, a family law practice in Portland. She also serves on the Parent Advisory Committee for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Emmanuel Hospital and volunteers with NICU Families NW.

      David Coulter BA ’03 is studying astrophysics at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Last fall, Coulter and his team discovered the “first optical photons from a gravitational wave source.” Their research was published in the peer-reviewed journal Science in October 2017.

      Ben Grossman BA ’03 took over the kitchen at Multnomah Whiskey Library last summer, and he’s brought his personal touch to an almost entirely new menu. Eater magazine interviewed him about how he makes food to complement the “amazing selection of spirits” as well how he uses said spirits in the food itself.

      Sayuri Sasaki Hemann BA ’03 presented an interactive public art project, entitled Mind Traveler’s Aquarium, at the University of Iowa in fall 2016. The project transformed the Fountain Lobby into an “aquarium” of vibrant color, texture, light, and imagined life. Mind Traveler’s Aquarium is the latest in Hemann’s Urban Aquarium project.

      Nick Lantz BA ’03 uses macabre humor to examine our strange, absurd, and often brutal relationship with other animals in his fourth book of poetry, winner of the Brittingham Prize in Poetry.

      Noah Manos BA ’03 and Morgan Law BA ’02 founded Paper Airplane, a sustainability-focused design/build firm in Denver. The pair recently completed their first major project, a 3,450-square-foot environmentally sustainable family home in Denver’s trendy Five Points neighborhood. Upon completion of the project, Manos and Law were featured in the Denver Post and 5280 magazine.

      Christine Walter BA ’03 works at Bauman’s Farm and Garden, a farm and tourist destination in Gervais, Oregon. She spoke last fall to Oregon Public Broadcasting about the popular apple cider produced by Bauman’s and about her own line of hard ciders that is available on tap throughout the Willamette Valley and Portland area.
