      Katy Davidson BA ’99, singer and guitarist for the band Dear Nora, spoke to AdHoc magazine about their favorite songs from throughout their career. Although Dear Nora disbanded in 2008, the group played a reunion show after a well-received re-release of the band’s album, Mountain Rock. Davidson is also known for their work with the bands Key Losers and Lloyd & Michael.

      Nathan Fey BA ’99 has been named director of the Colorado Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry. Fey has been active in the outdoor arena for 20 years. For 12 years, he worked as the regional director of the Colorado River Stewardship Program at American Whitewater. Prior to that, he worked at the Uncompahgre River Stewardship Alliance; San Miguel Watershed Coalition; and Ridgway Independent Guide Service, where he was a fly-fishing guide and kayak instructor.

      Kristin Gasteazoro BA ’99 is a health care sales leader with two kids, three dogs, and a husband who has a seventh Tough Mudder endurance event scheduled. She is serving on the class of 1999’s reunion planning committee.

      Chance M. Gilford BA ’99, July 7, 2016, age 39. Survivors include his daughter, Mia; his sister, Judy; his brother, Steven; and many friends and family.

      Heather Dittmore Kalowsky BA ’99 married the love of her life, Dan, in 2013. They then traveled the world together for two months before settling in Portland. The couple have two spunky children, Max (4) and Lena (2). When she’s not busy with the children, Kalowsky teaches ESOL and German at Portland Community College.

      Alanna Miel BA ’99, known as Miel, along with her husband, Adam Creighton, are independent development consultants for a number of clients, and co-founded ACE America, importing the ACE 1, the most efficient fuel-flexible biomass stove in the world, providing clean cooking with a range of fuels as well as offering solar electricity for mobile phone charging and LED lighting. Miel is a serial entrepreneur and a rental property maven. She founded Sweet Haven Rentals to help vacation rental owners and guests at unique homes throughout Oregon. Miel’s family are active Rotarians with the Portland Pearl Rotary Club.

      To Alanna Miel BA ’99, known as Miel, and husband Adam Creighton, son Ellis Roger Creighton on August 28, 2018, in NE Portland. Ellis joins son Clark Pierce Hendrickson, aged 5.

      Nicole Miranda BA ’99 is a property manager at the Port of Portland. She and Mike Skrzynski BA ’99 have a 3-year-old daughter who keeps them on their toes. They look forward to seeing everyone at the 20-year reunion for the class of 1999.

      Jason Rosenblatt BA ’99 is a Portland-based filmmaker. His work appears regularly at the annual McMinnville (Oregon) Short Film Festival, where he debuted his short Gerard in 2015. Most recently, he showed Mork Chop, a creative time-travel story; Zero Night Stand, a darkly comic and awkward dating tale; and Busy, which depicts a cry for help from a young woman’s suicidal friend.

      Justin Taylor BA ’99 is the founder and “kernel” of the Mid-South Corn Maze in Memphis, Tennessee. Taylor has been designing and organizing the maze for 16 years.

      Netta van Vliet BA ’99 has joined the faculty of the College of the Atlantic as a professor of anthropology.

      Lora Lyn Worden BA ’99 writes that after three years as librarian at the International School in Portland, she will be joining the Oregon Episcopal School as lower school teacher librarian. Check out her book recommendations in her article, “What Kind Are You?: Transgender Characters in Children’s Literature,” which appeared in Rethinking Schools Magazine.

      Carrie Wynkoop BA ’99 is the owner of Cellar 503, an Oregon wine club. Wine Enthusiast magazine recently included Cellar 503 in its top 10 list of clubs to join.
